I think they mean the pace played out like a miler's race — today's time was 1:09.2 after all.
She's by Lord Kanaloa, so the raw speed to handle this distance was always there — it was obvious she'd step up once her overall ability came together. As for Puro Magic, getting the good ground on the outside wasn't even that big a factor.

The trifecta (sanrentan) on that same trio paid over 6x, so if anything the trio payout was on the generous side.

Honestly, I don't feel like I can lose, so I'm posting my ticket before the race. The track's chewed up, nobody's sure if inside or outside has the edge, and the whole power balance could flip depending on how one horse gets ridden. Given all that, might as well just pray for total chaos.
Wanted a little extra tension too, so I deliberately left out Puro Magic.
