Around 11:30am on the 9th, a car driven by a woman began driving the wrong way on the outbound side of the Tokyo Gaikan Expressway near the Keiyo JCT in Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture. After police officers spent about an hour trying to persuade her to get out of the car, the woman suddenly drove off mid-questioning and fled. Footage showing what appear to be four unmarked police cars chasing after her spread across social media, and as of this writing the chase is still ongoing. On 5ch, users questioned the police’s pursuit tactics — particularly why they didn’t box the car in from front and back — while reports of a helicopter being dispatched also circulated.

Letting this one get away is a disgrace. Even if it draws criticism, they should've rammed the car and made the arrest. If she gets away with this, criminals are just going to keep disrespecting the police even more.
