The blood vessel is already damaged, so the goal is to make the current state last as long as possible. If needed they'll widen it with a catheter, and after that it's ongoing maintenance and monitoring — the start of a long relationship with your doctor.
Isn't it more about making it easier for blood to circulate? "Dissolve" might not be quite the right word, but something like that.
I don't think they mean he literally can't make sounds.

Apparently bodybuilder types love broccoli almost as much as protein powder, but broccoli is high in oxalic acid, and when combined with the calcium from chicken and eggs, it can bind together and cause urinary tract stones. If all you eat is broccoli, chicken, eggs, and protein, apparently it happens a lot.
Actually, taking oxalic acid and calcium together makes stones less likely, not more.
