Former TV director Nagisa Watanabe has argued that the entertainment-industry mindset of “people with a screw loose make more interesting content” is outdated. This past March, a research team including one from the University of Tokyo’s graduate school published a survey on working conditions in the broadcasting industry. Of the 119 women who took part, 70% said they had experienced sexual jokes or teasing. As many as 53 women (44.5%) reported experiences such as “being touched unnecessarily.” On top of that, 14.2% of women said they had been “assigned to sexual-entertainment duty,” underscoring just how low awareness of human rights is in the broadcasting industry.
Sounds more like she's the one with the screw loose.

Sato Jiro has an anxiety disorder too — filming the drama without ever being told physical contact was off-limits, then suddenly getting branded a sexual harasser, is plenty of a human-rights violation in itself.
