Hayashiya Pe, a yose (traditional variety-hall) performer and TV personality whose home was completely destroyed in a fire last September, updated X on the 25th to share his wife Peeko’s current condition.
The couple’s home burned down entirely last September. Peeko’s dementia has reportedly worsened, along with her hearing loss. That day, Pe explained, “Just as an aside — one day Peeko suddenly started having leg pain so bad she couldn’t walk.” He continued, “We rushed her to Kodama Orthopedic Clinic nearby, the one she’s gone to since childhood, for the first time in decades.”
Feel bad for her, but once you can't walk anymore, that's the beginning of the end.

My grandfather (91) used to walk every day,
but then his spinal stenosis suddenly got worse,
and it wasn't just trouble walking — he couldn't even get out of bed anymore,
completely bedridden, doing everything, even meals and the toilet, in bed.
It got so rough we started looking into a care facility for him,
but he gradually improved and ended up fully recovering in about three months.
He's back to walking every day now, same as before.
