Kioxia Issues ‘Regarding Certain Media Reports’ Statement Following Iwate New Plant Leak

The story

On August 27, 2026, Kioxia Holdings published a document titled “Regarding Certain Media Reports.” The statement appears to be a response to an earlier Nikkei report about construction of a new plant in Iwate Prefecture (with investment topping ¥1 trillion). On 5ch, commenters noted this fits the familiar “template” pattern where reports leak ahead of official announcements and still turn out accurate, worried about disciplinary action against the employee behind the leak, and reacted to the stock price surging after the announcement.

The classic template for when a report leaks before the official announcement

Waiting to see how they punish the employee who leaked it

The power company, or whichever "Heavy Industries" makes the gas turbines for power generation

If you want a stable life,
just buy variable-rate 10-year Japanese government savings bonds.
Behind every smug flex post on social media there's a pile of people who got wiped out — and somewhere out there, a train is stopped again today (a dark dig at stock-loss suicides that delay trains)

Nikkei spreading fake news again?

When a company says "this wasn't announced by us," it's almost always confirming the leak was accurate

Kioxia's going to lose the competition and go under, isn't it —
Chinese companies are on the rise

Kind of telling when one of your biggest shareholders is a rival company

They're basically saying "we're running a cartel here, quit reporting unnecessary stuff"
43AnonymousAug 27, 2026 12:11
Interest rates are high on things like this, so they shouldn't build it with debt. Do a public share offering — at least ¥5 trillion, maybe max it out around ¥25 trillion.

Everyone would be thrilled, lolololol

Ha, a manipulated speculator stock (仕手株) huh
LMAO, LMAO…

Re: #18
Nikkei reports it → company says "not an official announcement" → officially announced later.
Seen this exact pattern so many times lol
57AnonymousAug 27, 2026 12:14
Building factories left and right is fine, but not on debt

Fund the whole thing through share offerings

Kioxia at ¥50,000 a share isn't a sane valuation to begin with, so it'd be way better to raise something like ¥25 trillion via public offering and sit on a pile of cash that lets them do anything.

Heck, they could even use that cash to go make acquisitions

They still have the technological edge, so all that's left is ramping up production capacity.

no lag saving photos,
