5ch Regular “Byosoin Kururi” Answers Every Single Reply on a Sunday — “First, Fix Your Personality”

The story

On 5ch’s Nyuusoku VIP board, a regular going by the fixed handle “Byosoin Kururi” declared on Sunday morning that they’d “answer every single reply,” kicking off a thread where they responded one by one to whatever questions came their way. Topics ranged wildly — remedies for migraines and hangovers, health talk about depression and bipolar disorder, favorite reading habits, a future where AI takes people’s jobs, and recommended Cthulhu Mythos works. There was even a reunion moment with a regular who remembered a past exchange, and the whole thread stayed calm and friendly from start to finish.

Thanks in advance, everyone.

Re: #16
I'll consult a lawyer about that.
21AnonymousSep 27, 2026 08:54
Re: #18
I'll also talk to a lawyer and think long and hard about whether to pursue legal action.
22AnonymousSep 27, 2026 08:55
Re: #21
I see. Good for you.
24AnonymousSep 27, 2026 08:56
Wait, that's hilarious lol.
Also, didn't you post something pretty similar yourself?
25AnonymousSep 27, 2026 08:57
Re: #24
I see. Good for you.
26AnonymousSep 27, 2026 08:58
Wasn't Kururi dead, though?
31AnonymousSep 27, 2026 08:59
Re: #26
I'm not dead.
40AnonymousSep 27, 2026 09:15
Good morning.
I'll eat some jelly, take my meds, and go back to sleep.
41AnonymousSep 27, 2026 09:17
Re: #40
Sounds like a cold? Flu's going around too, so be careful. Take care of yourself.
42AnonymousSep 27, 2026 09:25
Hi Kururi-chan. I get migraines, and for some reason drinking cola and eating fries cures them.
43AnonymousSep 27, 2026 09:26
Re: #42
I wonder why that is. Might have something to do with the sugar.
44AnonymousSep 27, 2026 09:28
Sugar and caffeine? No idea why, but it works better than Loxonin or Bufferin (common Japanese OTC painkillers).

It's bad for me, so I only go to McDonald's when my head is really pounding.
45AnonymousSep 27, 2026 09:32
Re: #44
Migraines often have no clear cause, so why they get cured is a mystery too — but hey, at least there's a fix. Small mercy.
46AnonymousSep 27, 2026 09:34
Could be hormones, air pressure changes, all kinds of things.
Anyway, Kururi-chan, weren't you hungover?
48AnonymousSep 27, 2026 09:35
Re: #46
Lately, no matter how much I drink, I don't get hangovers anymore. Maybe my liver's toughened up.
49AnonymousSep 27, 2026 09:37
Kururi-chan, is yours more of a tension headache?
Mine gets worse with heat.
I go to a headache clinic and get a preventive migraine shot (Aimovig) every month.

I also cut back on cheese and chocolate since those trigger headaches too.
51AnonymousSep 27, 2026 09:43
Re: #49
So it's called a tension headache — good to know.
In high school I had headaches almost every day, but as I got older they let up a lot.
Hope things keep improving for you too.
50AnonymousSep 27, 2026 09:39
Re: #48
Maybe you just stopped drinking enough to get hungover?
Can't really say, I don't drink myself.
But I want Kururi-chan to live a long life, so don't overdo it.
52AnonymousSep 27, 2026 09:44
Re: #50
Thanks. Might just be that I've been drinking less lately.
63AnonymousSep 27, 2026 11:03
Kururi-chan, you're definitely not an AI.
Way back when, I posted
"Thinking about getting plastic surgery to go from a strong face to a plainer one"
and you told me
"You're putting your effort in the wrong place. First, fix your personality."

That's not an answer any AI would give.

Re: #63
Is that you, Tenten-san?
68AnonymousSep 27, 2026 11:07
Re: #65
You actually remembered me?!
I'm so happy 🙌 so glad you're back, Kururi-chan 🥳🥳
71AnonymousSep 27, 2026 11:09
Re: #68
I honestly had no idea it was you, Tenten-san, until just now — I'm pretty shocked.
Glad to be reunited with you too.
72AnonymousSep 27, 2026 11:10
I think engineers will survive, but office jobs are probably doomed.
Right now they're only hanging on because things are still so analog.
75AnonymousSep 27, 2026 11:12
Re: #72
I think Japan's still safe for a while yet. By the time the West starts pushing back against AI, Japan will probably only just be getting around to rolling it out properly at mainstream companies.
74AnonymousSep 27, 2026 11:11
Re: #71
Glad to see you're doing well, Kururi-chan.
By the way, still haven't gotten so much as a millimeter of plastic surgery, and I've got depression, but I'm doing fine 👍
76AnonymousSep 27, 2026 11:14
Re: #74
Hope your depression goes into remission soon. Bipolar sounds rough, so take care of yourself.
80AnonymousSep 27, 2026 11:19
What else is on your bookshelf?
81AnonymousSep 27, 2026 11:20
Re: #80
All sorts of things. Novels make up about half, and the rest is a mix of neuroscience, psychology, psychiatry, philosophy, and religion.
I've also got books on poverty and end-of-life care.
85AnonymousSep 27, 2026 11:30
Judging by that lineup, you're clearly a humanities person at heart.
87AnonymousSep 27, 2026 11:32
Re: #85
Yeah, true. I've always loved reading, so going into science and math track might've just been because the coursework was easier.
93AnonymousSep 27, 2026 12:01
You're probably from a national-university science background, so you must've had to take either Japanese history or world history as an entrance exam subject.
96AnonymousSep 27, 2026 12:03
Re: #93
No, private university actually. I'm hopeless at anything forced on me, so a private school with fewer required subjects was really my only option.
95AnonymousSep 27, 2026 12:03
What's electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for depression actually like?
98AnonymousSep 27, 2026 12:04
Re: #95
I've never had it, so I wouldn't know.
100AnonymousSep 27, 2026 12:05
Any Cthulhu Mythos recommendations besides Lovecraft himself?
101AnonymousSep 27, 2026 12:07
Re: #100
They're games rather than novels, but I'd recommend Bloodborne and dear My Abyss. The former's an action RPG, the latter a visual novel.
Unfortunately I haven't come across any novels I'd feel good recommending.
106AnonymousSep 27, 2026 12:10
FromSoftware games in general have great world-building, not just Bloodborne.
108AnonymousSep 27, 2026 12:12
Re: #106
Totally get that. Miyazaki (Hidetaka Miyazaki, the FromSoftware director) is a phenomenal creator.

Background and Key Points

On 5ch’s VIP board, there’s a long-running tradition where a regular posting under a fixed handle (a “kotehan”) declares at some set time that they’ll “answer every single reply,” then works through whatever questions or jabs get thrown their way. This thread followed that same format, with questions covering remedies for migraines and hangovers, health topics like depression and bipolar disorder, favorite reading habits, Cthulhu Mythos recommendations, and AI’s impact on jobs. There was even a reunion moment with a regular who remembered past exchanges, and the whole thing stayed calm throughout, with no conflict or flame wars. Note: the thread also included an exchange where the poster claiming to be the real Kururi posted a face photo and got teased over their looks — since that can’t be verified and amounts to mocking someone’s appearance, it’s been left out of this article.

*This article is excerpted and summarized from the 5ch (Nyuusoku VIP) thread “I go by Byosoin Kururi, and since it’s Sunday morning I’ll answer every reply.“
