Juice=Juice’s Live-Venue Popularity Rankings Spark Debate on 5ch: “Pretty Much Everyone’s Popular Now”

The story

On a 5ch chat thread about the Hello! Project group Juice=Juice, fans debated each member’s popularity at “genba” (live venues). The thread kicked off with a post claiming, “The era belongs to Ebamifu, but at the venues it’s already mostly the aces, Akagawashima” — sparking discussion over who’s really at the center right now, based on the breakdown of penlight colors and how fast individual cheki (photo cards) and EPs sell out. Others pushed back, arguing that “with even Kudo selling out both parts of the first run at Setagaya Egret Hall these days — this wildly inflated era of popularity — arguing over popularity gaps is pointless to begin with,” pointing out that penlight color counts alone don’t tell the whole story.

The era belongs to Ebamifu,
but at the venues it's already mostly the aces, Akagawashima.

At the actual shows though, blue's more common.
3AnonymousSep 3, 2026 14:26
It's still the Yumeriai era, through and through.
4AnonymousSep 3, 2026 14:27
That was true for the Hello! Con and tour-announcement shows, but for Juice's solo lives, isn't it still orange?
5AnonymousSep 3, 2026 14:27
Funny how it's not like 🩵 is completely absent either.
6AnonymousSep 3, 2026 14:32
Red's growing, but yellow's not quite there yet.
7AnonymousSep 3, 2026 14:33
She did make it into the "Big Four," though.
9AnonymousSep 3, 2026 14:38
Ebamifu fans are keyboard warriors, so
at the actual shows it's more like
Orange > Blue > White > Pink > Red > Yellow

I only go to Juice shows, but here's how venue popularity looks from where I stand:

Danbara
Inoue, Matsunaga
Kudo, Kawashima
Ebata
Ishiyama, Arisawa, Endo
Irie, Hayashi

Re: #10
Kanazawa, Takagi, Miyamoto, Uemura, Inaba, Danbara, Inoue, Matsunaga, Kudo
that was the lineup people called the "Avengers" era.

From there,

Kanazawa, Takagi, Miyamoto, Uemura, and Inaba got replaced
by Arisawa, Irie, Ebata, Ishiyama, and Endo, and it fizzled out.

Then a hit song brought it back to life.

That's the official canon,
and yeah, it's playing out exactly like canon.

Part of it's that red's a primary color and stands out, but I also get the feeling it might've overtaken pink.

These days even Kudo sells out both parts of the first run at Setagaya Egret Hall — it's such a wildly inflated popularity boom that arguing over popularity gaps within it feels pointless.
Pretty much everyone's insanely popular at this point.
13AnonymousSep 3, 2026 14:46
There's a theory going around that people are just mistaking orange for red.
14AnonymousSep 3, 2026 14:46
The EPs sold out individually across the board too.
At this point about the only things left to compare are Instagram follower counts and penlight colors.
15AnonymousSep 3, 2026 14:47
By the old-school definition,
Danbara's the ace (the so-called "Ace-der"),
and Kawashima's the center.
16AnonymousSep 3, 2026 14:56
No denying the numbers are up.
17AnonymousSep 3, 2026 14:56
Back when she was a trainee, people used to call Danbara "Roulette."
18AnonymousSep 3, 2026 14:56
For TV and print visuals, Irie's the center.
19AnonymousSep 3, 2026 14:59
On the flip side, Ebata's about the only one who joined Juice=Juice after already dominating in popularity as a trainee.
20AnonymousSep 3, 2026 15:01
Red's blending in with orange — from a distance you can't tell which is which.
But yeah, there's definitely a lot of it.
21AnonymousSep 3, 2026 15:03
Caught the Takaishi City show and yeah, there was definitely a lot of red.
58AnonymousSep 3, 2026 15:15
Once you're actually at a Juice solo show, there's more blue than I expected.
60AnonymousSep 3, 2026 15:20
Nah, the current lineup is the best it's ever been.
62AnonymousSep 3, 2026 15:23
Guess racking up a hundred million views on TikTok barely matters if you're still dead last in popularity.
67AnonymousSep 3, 2026 15:23
It's great that everyone's properly popular now, honestly.

Background and Key Points

Penlight color at “genba” (live venues) is the classic yardstick Hello! Project fans use to eyeball each member’s popularity, not just for Juice=Juice — each member is assigned her own cheering color. That said, similar shades like orange and red are hard to tell apart from a distance, and as posts #13 and #20 point out, mix-ups happen easily. There’s also the point raised in posts #12 and #14 that with EPs and individual cheki now selling out for nearly every member in recent years, judging who’s the “ace” from color distribution alone has gotten difficult — worth remembering this reflects changes in supply and venue size rather than a straightforward popularity vote. Unsubstantiated rumors about the circumstances of specific members joining the group have been excluded from this article.
